Incredibly easy to put together kit, the videos make it very easy to follow along. This kit comes with everything you need except electronics and wheels. I put 4 1/2 lightweight foam wheels on mine. This plane flew great with no trimming for the first flight, I was surprised at how slow it can fly!
This is the first of many Flite Test kits for me, after how smooth and easy this was I’m sold on these kits. Thank you FT for making these so accessible and easy to learn the process of building and flying.

I bought this plane with the intention of making it a bush beast. I love bush flying, and I think this is one of the best diy airplanes to fulfill that role. Running it off a power pack C and a 10x4.5 prop, it has plenty of power on a 3s 1300. I did some pretty basic modifications to mine like adding magnets to the hatch, landing gear fairings and rubber bands, and flaps. I am running full deflection on all surfaces and about 35 degrees of flaps. This plane will slow down to a crawl so it no issue getting into smaller areas. With the big tires and the tail dragged configuration, it will roll of pretty much anything. And one more bonus, it’s basically indestructible. I love the plane, keep up the great work flite test!

The build is pretty straightforward. I did find that mine came out very tight, so getting the power pod in was a chore.

The biggest issue, and the reason I gave the Tutor Four out of Five stars, is the landing gear. The 3mm wire simply isn't heavy enough, and the foam plywood arrangement was a total mess. I wound up cutting a middle plywood spacer from 3mm ply with a slot for the wire, then a back plate. I glued this sandwich together and was able to easily slide into the slot, then add foam behind to tighten the fit.

The 3mm wire is still problematic however. It is much smaller than the hub of the wheels provided, and simply not durable enough for repeated beginner landing practice. It bends out too easy.

What would be awesome is if Flitetest could source some pre-bent gear of the same size wire that would fit into the wheel hub, which I think is 5mm. I think that would hold up to beginner pilots torture testing! ? Being pre-bent would be a life saver since working something that heavy needs a vice, which some don't have.

Even offering an optional flat aluminum gear that's tough enough would solve the problem.
