The Flite Test Beechcraft Model 18 is an easy to fly twin that is also very acrobatic with a wide flight envelope. Once built, customize your Twin Beech by painting and adding the included decals. Or really make it unique by adding one of our optional decal sets. With Its classic looks and acrobatic performance, the Flite Test Beechcraft Model 18 is sure to be a welcome addition to any fleet. The Beechcraft Model 18 (aka Twin Beech) is a 6 to 11 seat, twin-engine, low-wing, tailwheel light aircraft manufactured by the Beech Aircraft Corporation of Wichita, Kansas. Continuously produced from 1937 to November 1969 (over 32 years, a world record at the time), more than 9,000 were built, making it one of the world's most widely used light aircraft.

The Model 18 was used as a civilian executive, utility, and cargo aircraft. It was also sold as a passenger airliner with tailwheels, nose wheels, skis, or floats. The military versions included 5,200 that were built as cargo (C-45/JRB), photo reconnaissance (F-2/JRB), trainers (AT-7/SNB) and bomb-gunnery trainers (AT-11/SNB). The Pratt & Whitney R-985 engine powered a wide variety and large number of military and commercial aircraft, making it one of the most successful reciprocating engines ever built in Its power class. As of August 2017, there were 240 Twin Beeches in the U.S. still on the FAA Aircraft Registry.

John Overstreet's designs are often very stable, but this was remarkably so. I flew it first with a 3300 mAh 4s, and then with a 2300 mAh using the same battery position but the CG was unaffected. On twin FT Radial C pack motors, it had great vertical. The design is very fast, and handles nicely at slow speeds. If you want an excellent large aerobatic twin, this is one to build!

This has to be the best twin motor FliteTest plane I’ve ever built and flown. The build is very straight forward as far as master planes go. I’m using the C pack twin and a 3s 4000mah battery. It’s got great vertical, long flight times, and does aerobatics very reminiscent of Matt Younkins airshow. Even without a gyro, it flies so rock solid in blustery conditions. I think it’s a great first twin, first master plane, and just all around great flier. Good build one, guys!

Love the look of this old bird. The build was my first master series kit but it turned out OK but not my best effort. I was so happy after the first flight. slow and smooth with no bad habits. the aura5 lite helps keep it calm in the desert winds we have here in Tucson. I'm purchasing another to do justice to the design with a cleaner finish. I hope they put out the Cessna U78 song bird in the same size, hint hint
