FT Sea Otter
THE FT SEA OTTER is taking the sea by storm... and the AIR by surprise!!
This plane is "Otter-ly" amazing! Whether you are flying off water, snow or land this the SEA OTTER does it all! The newest model from Peter "Mad Scientist" Sripol brings the sea plane design to a whole new light. Peter designed this plane to allow for newer pilots to be able to have a simpler design for a better overall sea plane intro experience. This might not be a "FIRST PLANE" for most people, but it is definitely a great intermediate option! This plane flies wonderfully and feels great in the air and looks great on the water. We hope you have as much fun flying it as we did! LET'S FLY!

Best water plane!
I also have a Sea Duck and Sea Angel, but this BROWN foam Sea Otter is the real deal. With a C pack and 4S 2200 battery it is a hoot! I fly mine at a local park and wow the spectators with a splash down at the local pond. It rolls well and will loop if it’s a big one. I was showing off over a lake when I stalled the loop and it nosed in from 50’. It popped back on its floats and I happily motored it back to the beach. It was a hit at our club float fly and probably has more flights on it than any of my other planes! Great build: I reinforced all seams generously with hot glue and put popsicle sticks framing the canopy as well as packing tape around every inch of the outside. It’s faster in the air than one would think thanks to the Mustang wings! I love this plane.

FT Sea Otter
I adore this model. Easy to build and easy to fly dispute advanced rating in the description. My Sea Otter has logged over 1000 water landings during the 2022 season so far. Looking forward to some snow this winter.

Fun plane for Alaska
I live on a small lake so this is a great plane for me, summer and winter as it works great of of snow or water.
This plane does like power, I suspect it is high drag and low weight, but if you try to fly at low throttle it doesn't go well (or I don't do well -- also a possibility).
The airframe is resilient. It was my first non-delta ray plane and I abused it quite a bit. Eventually I filled the forward fuse with door/window crack filling foam to help compensate for damage and make sure it stayed afloat if I disabled it in the middle of the lake and had to deploy my boat. This actually seemed to help with the flight characteristics.
My next build has flaperons.
