The FT Twin Otter is one of the most versatile and capable aircraft in our entire flite test aircraft line-up. This fun scale representation of the classic twin otter was designed to look scale but offer extreme stability and capabilities whether you're flying aerobatics, fpv, or using this plane as a powerful Workhorse for glider tugs or flying off the water. The FT Twin Otter was designed by David Jester. His passion for versatility and simplicity while not compromising strength and looks is evident with his simple build techniques and fold-together alignment throughout the entire airframe.

This project was also inspired by our good friends at Flex Innovation.

Flex Innovation is known for creating incredible extreme performance, large-sized aircraft.. We wanted to create a stepping stone to these higher energy higher-end models by creating a DIY solution that is easy to build and carries the same flight characteristics as the larger models created by Flex.

The FT Twin Otter also utilizes the FT Aura 5 to provide Solutions like launch assist, level assist, and differential stabilization. This means you can go from training to extreme aerobatics with the flip of a switch. The FT Twin Otter also is capable of a wide speed envelope by utilizing the optional flaps. Go from speeding across the sky to a jogging pace by simply dropping down the flaps and throttling back. Add on additional accessories like the fpv tray and the fpv pan/tilt system and you're ready to take to the skies with a first-person view like none other. If flying off the water is your passion, simply install the optional float system and experience the benefit of the wide, stable stance combined with differential thrust. This makes the FT Twin Otter a fantastic choice for your first pontoon aircraft on snow or water.

The FT Twin Otter can go from the workbench to the skies in as little as 4 hours and is guaranteed to be an aircraft that follows you everywhere you wish to fly thanks to its removable wings and versatile capabilities. This is one plane that will never grow old or get Dusty

I bought this plane at Flite Fest 2024 and was blown away by the pure power and maneuverability one can get from a cheap foam aircraft. This aircraft will definitely become a permanent part of my fleet and I am looking forward to flying it in the future!
