The FT Tubby B-17 has been a passion project for Josh for many years. Thanks to John Overstreet, the father of Master Series builds, Josh has been given the skills needed to create an advanced-looking but easy to build scale representation of one of the most iconic aircraft in the world!

The FT Tubby B-17 was designed to be fun to look at, build, and fly! This aircraft features lines that represent a mix of cartoon fatty aircraft and some of our favorite vintage cartoons, this model walks the line between scale and art. It was also designed for function, with a bombay  that can carry up to 3 lb of payload! The Tubby B-17 will look great on the ground but really shine in the air when you are flying it on your favorite mission to inspire young children or doing incredible aerobatics.

This aircraft features a brand new building method that has been developed by Josh where a center structure aligns all the outer skins for ease of build and accuracy. There is no need to learn new techniques outside of the classic swappable skills that have been used many times in the past.

The FT Tubby B-17 was designed for easy transportation with a removable wing that allows you to put it in a normal-sized vehicle with ease. This aircraft is just as rewarding to build as it is to fly! This aircraft also features a vacuum-formed nose to give it an amazing scale look and also an improved build experience. The landing gear is also modular and allows for beautiful ground handling and smooth take-offs and landings.

The FT Tubby B-17 can be built in as little as 6 hours and is designed to last many missions. You can load the batteries and payload from the top through the removable canopy. This gives ample room to install the two 2200mAh to 3300mAh batteries through a large hidden hatch on the side of the bomb bay compartment. No more flipping over your plane and denting your foam to fill your payload or to install your batteries!

This design also offers a wide variety of optional add-ons, from the decal kit to our Tubby Bubby Bomb that add an incredible level of scale. We hope that you enjoy this aircraft and the story behind it as much as we have enjoyed designing it and making it a reality!
