Beginner RC Airplane Build Kit
The FT Mighty Mini Tiny Trainer is the ideal starter kit for beginners looking to get into building RC or glide airplanes.
FT Mighty Mini Tiny Trainer MKR2
Educators, group leaders, and parents looking to make a memory with a loved one can build the Tiny Trainer as a free flight (hand tossed) glider or a powered RC airplane. A little clay in the nose for balance, and you're ready to toss the plane back and forth with a friend! Remove the clay and add 2 servos and you have a great 2 channel glider to learn elevator and rudder control. Swap out your glider nose for the powered nose and enter into the world of 3 channel flight. Once you are comfortable with slow, lazy figure eights and graceful loops, remove the polyhedral wing and replace it with the included sport wing. The sport wing will teach you bank and yank skills and enter you into world of aerobatics and precision flight. Install a 3 cell battery and go from cruising to cutting up the sky with vertical lines and exhilarating speed.
The Tiny Trainer will also get you up to speed with techniques used with all FT designs. Every technique from "A Folds" to Folding wing airfoils will be used in this one build.
This airframe was developed around our Power Pack A electronics kit which is used with the Mighty Mini Series.

flight review
I am not an expert, but I flew this last night after I set it up and followed the videos. This is my second flite test kit, and I followed the build more closely that my first build. So I used a hot glue gun, watched the videos. I took my time to build it straight and clean.
I hand launched at full throttle and it climbed into the sky at an alarming rate. I feared it would fly away!
I previously tried the Aeroscout (full size) and Aeroscout mini. both struggled to make altitude.
I double sided (red) taped in the components, and they broke loose and made the center of gravity off. this caused my later flights to loose control. The wind was a factor in control. but this was way better than the Aeroscouts I had. I flew a GWS Beaver with success 20 years ago, I bought a GWS a-10 that would not fly 5 feet. so I can't blame myself if these planes don't preform as well. I try to be objective. -
Wonderful and Amazingly durable first plane
I ordered this and the Aura Lite to it and self-taught myself to fly and I can attest this is a heck of a durable and forgiving plane with the beginning wing. I even added ailerons to the beginning wing and taught myself to fly with them before moving up to the higher speed wing.
After driving this plane in the ground 6 or 7 times hard I can share two things with certainty … 1) this plane is durable and can be patched up with more glue and scraps and keep flying and 2) you need to buy softer props than what comes with it. What finally killed it was overnight in a tree and we needed to beat it down to get the electronics out … so, If you are on the fence on purchasing this … do it. You will not be sorry.
It flies fast and slow and when you add ailerons to the beginning wings you can enjoy nice slow motions so you can learn. Also, add the Aura Lite and watch the YouTube videos on line by FT and others on how to set up. I ended up creating a correction mode that the roll movement would correct with the rudder to start with and then after flying better I went to roll movement would correct with the ailerons.
Overall, this plane gave me the confidence I lost as a kid in flying ‘tail waggers’ and now retired I can fly like I wanted to and will be moving up to more challenging.
Thanks FT!

Tiny Trainer = lots of fun
I have built several FT planes from scratch. This was my first kit. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the new foam and the laser cut parts. This little plane is just so much fun to fly. It flies better than most of my expensive SAFE select planes.
