Kick off your RC journey the right way with the FT Tiny Trainer—the ultimate Mighty Mini designed to master every RC flight basic!

Perfect for beginners, parents, educators, or anyone introducing a friend to this awesome hobby, the Tiny Trainer turns every flight into a confidence-building success. This ingenious plane evolves with you through four progressive designs in one kit:

  • Start as a free-flight glider—add a bit of clay to the nose, hand-toss, and enjoy simple back-and-forth fun with a buddy.
  • Upgrade to a 2-channel RC glider (rudder + elevator) for precise control practice—no power needed yet.
  • Swap to the powered nose for 3-channel flight—learn smooth figure-eights, gentle loops, and lazy circuits with forgiving handling.
  • Level up with the included sport wing for 4-channel aerobatics—master bank-and-yank turns, rolls, loops, and precision flying. Add a 3S battery to unleash vertical climbs and exhilarating speed!

Along the way, you'll pick up every core Flite Test building technique—from "A Folds" to folding wing airfoils—in one rewarding project.

Optimized around the Power Pack A (standard for the Mighty Mini Series), it's quick to assemble, incredibly durable, and endlessly versatile.

Whether you're making memories with family, teaching a group, or launching your own flying adventure, the Tiny Trainer grows with you from first toss to first aerobatic triumph.

I ordered this and the Aura Lite to it and self-taught myself to fly and I can attest this is a heck of a durable and forgiving plane with the beginning wing. I even added ailerons to the beginning wing and taught myself to fly with them before moving up to the higher speed wing.

After driving this plane in the ground 6 or 7 times hard I can share two things with certainty … 1) this plane is durable and can be patched up with more glue and scraps and keep flying and 2) you need to buy softer props than what comes with it. What finally killed it was overnight in a tree and we needed to beat it down to get the electronics out … so, If you are on the fence on purchasing this … do it. You will not be sorry.

It flies fast and slow and when you add ailerons to the beginning wings you can enjoy nice slow motions so you can learn. Also, add the Aura Lite and watch the YouTube videos on line by FT and others on how to set up. I ended up creating a correction mode that the roll movement would correct with the rudder to start with and then after flying better I went to roll movement would correct with the ailerons.

Overall, this plane gave me the confidence I lost as a kid in flying ‘tail waggers’ and now retired I can fly like I wanted to and will be moving up to more challenging.

    Thanks FT!

I have built several FT planes from scratch. This was my first kit. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the new foam and the laser cut parts. This little plane is just so much fun to fly. It flies better than most of my expensive SAFE select planes.

Build it light. Use the A pack power kit
    Plenty of power
The 3s 850 batteries work great 18-20 minute flights

I can’t find the rubber band size tho!!

They need to add rubber band size to the specs
