The Bloody Baron is a 4-channel combat/sport plane. Coupled with our Power Pack B, the Bloody Baron can be flown as a 4-channel trainer. Use the Power Pack C and the Bloody Baron will climb vertically with ease and is capable of most basic aerobatics.

The Bloody Baron is our first community release! That means a Flite Test community member was inspired by experiencing flight enough to design their very own airplane. This airframe is compatible with the swappable series developed by Josh Bixler.

Here is an excerpt from the designer, Dan Sponholz:

"The FT Bloody Wonder was the plane I learned to fly on. It was not my first plane, but it was the first plane I had success with. For that reason it will always be special to me. I can't think of a better way to honor that than by trying to make an already great design even better. The Baron was inspired by the FT Bloody Wonder. I think you will agree that the end result is a combat plane that is stronger, yet simpler and faster to construct than Its predecessor. I took some styling cues from the classic Das Ugly Stick, and the Fokker Dr.1. The Fokker Dr.1 was made famous by German WWI ace Baron Von Richthofen (a.k.a. the Red Baron). Hence the name, Bloody Baron."

I'm one of the many who FliteTest has introduced to affordable RC flight!
The FT Bloody Baron is a versatile design. It doesn't say in the directions, but CAN be fitted with an 'A pack' equivalent motor, 7" prop, and very small 3S battery.... for an amazing, slo-fly trainer!

You can then move up to a 'B pack' motor',to do more advanced training....

Then, it will even handle a 'C pack' or slightly larger motor, for a fun, ballistic stunt or combat aircraft!!
This is a stout but small design, that can take a few hits!

This is a great plane for combat I talked our club into trying them for combat and it is great fun with as many pilots you can get into the air all at once

I am a balsa builder but built the Bloody Baron to participate in my club’s combat competition. This was my first foam board build so there was a little learning curve but it was easy enough and a couple hours later it was done. The plane is wicked maneuverable and a blast to fly. I do not love building with foam board but I do enjoy how quickly you get do the build and how easy it is to repair. I get 4 mins on a 3S1300 flying very aggressively (power pac C). This is a great plane for somebody who wants to fly crazy without having to worry about crashing something expensive.
