The FT Corsair marks an exciting new chapter in Flite Test scratch-built aircraft. Developed using advanced “mold-together” techniques pioneered by John Overstreet, this design moves beyond traditional fold-together construction to deliver stunning scale detail and exceptional flight performance. By peeling the paper and carefully shaping the foam, the Corsair achieves smooth, flowing curves in both the fuselage and airfoil—resulting in an aircraft that truly flies as good as it looks.

These new building techniques may feel different if you’ve built Flite Test models before, but they’re easy to learn and are designed to carry forward into future Flite Test aircraft. At the same time, many familiar Flite Test methods are still used, creating a build that feels fresh while remaining approachable and rewarding.

In the air, the FT Corsair offers a wide speed and performance envelope, making it suitable for a broad range of pilots. Set up mildly, it’s a forgiving and confidence-building flyer for beginners and intermediate pilots. Power it up with a 4-cell battery, and even advanced pilots will find an exciting, capable warbird that delivers impressive performance.

With its iconic looks, innovative construction, and versatile flight characteristics, the FT Corsair is a must-build for pilots looking to experience the future of Flite Test design.

First MS build went well until the tailcone. Wing and taiul completed withour proplem. Scrapped the fuselage when I found a building error. Using this build process it can be hard to get each section to conform to the next and still maintain good aesthetics. Handle with car or you will get unsightly creases. Reordered another kit as I learned alot from the first.

This thing looks and flies great! And weight is no issue, I was carrying a 2200mah 4s with a Powerdrive 3548 1100kv motor and it flew Just fine! Harder to fly that the FT Simple Scout but not to difficult this thing really glides! Thanks FT for making such a nice looking plane!

I'm not new to building and scratch building models including Tissue / balsa airplanes, model railways, ships, etc. (yes, I'm OLD) This is my first foam airplane ever and I am AMAZED. this opens up a whole bunch of ideas and possibilities. This is also the first model I have built with video instructions. THAT WAS COOL!!! Couple of mistakes on my part (nothing drastic) with lessons learned and just a wrinkle or two but the plane came out AWESOME so I can say that the most inexperienced builder can build a great plane first try if you just follow the instructions. THANKS FLITE TEST
