I've had this for a couple of months now, and so far this has been great. However, keep a few things in mind. Firstly, this is not carbon fiber and will break if you crash from a great height. I recommend being careful when inserting the camera into its mount, since it was a tight fit for me. I also recommend orienting the nylon standoffs so that there is more clearance for the motors (and also make sure to tuck in the motor wires!). I managed to do flips on a 2S 800 mAh battery. This drone can carry an action camera, but will be VERY sluggish (I recommend using a 3S battery in that case). Flight time is around 1 minute and 30 seconds on full throttle (2S 800 mAh). I had to change a few values in the PID setting since I had a lot of jitter on mine. If you want to solder the capacitor that it comes with, keep in mind that the capacitor takes a lot of space. Other than all these, I found the quad to be a great flight experience. Despite my crashes, this has survived pretty well, and I managed to find some replacements for some components (such as the propellers). It's amazing how this managed to handle wind outdoors and even could carry a heavy action camera on a 2S battery. As a beginner quad, I highly recommend this.

  • A great backyard flyer!

I picked up a Guardian Gremlin and a Tiny Whoop at the same time, and the Gremlin has been a real blast outdoors. I'm not deft enough to fly it well indoors, but that may come with some more practice. The Gremlin is very sturdy and has taken some colossal crashes very well. The worst damage thus far is some minor scuffing on the body and a few popped nylon screws, which are easy and cheap to replace. I've barely played with the camera yet, but it works well and provides a clear signal, and I'm looking forward to using it soon.

This is an update to a previous review. Our gremlin is now flying after reversing the flight controller orientation in Betaflight. We had not previously considered this fix as the flight controller was installed according to video instructions and arrow on the printed circuit board.

It is now our absolute favorite quad to fly, and we can't seem to keep batteries charged fast enough to fly it as much as we would like it. Thanks FliteTest!
