This is the FrSky 2.4GHz ACCST Taranis X9D PLUS Telemetry Transmitter System, with an included X8R receiver, rechargeable transmitter battery, battery charger and an aluminum carrying case.

When it comes to possibilities the Frsky Taranis sets a new standard. FrSky is well known for their frequency hopping ACCST technology, that takes advantage of the entire 2.4GHz band, resulting in excellent range and reliability, they now offer their first full transmitter system.

The Taranis mixes the  power of the OPEN TX open-source software with an unbelievable ergonomic case with 8 programmable switches, two twist knobs and two easy to get to lateral 'slider' pots, and not to mention the ultra-smooth quad bearing gimbals.

The Taranis utilizes Voice Alerts from an internal speaker, versus just an annoying beeper. For things like; audible Count down timers, low voltage warnings, landing gear down warnings etc., just about anything can be programmed, you can even use your own voice. The SD card slot offers unlimited memory options and a USB port for upgrades even a headphone jack.

One of the best features of the Taranis is its full telemetry capability, as well as RSSI signal strength feedback, there are 3 different programmable fail-safe modes and receiver lock, so no more crashes due to selecting the wrong model. If you have stock in other brand receivers or BNFs, no worries the Taranis has a JR style RF module slot, so you have the option of other brand modules such as the Orange DSM2/DSMX or Open LRS 433mhz module, or pop in another Frsky module to expand the transmitters capabilities even more with duel RF.

When you put it all together, between FrSky ACCST technology and the power of OPEN TX software and community, a ergonomic case with ultra-smooth smooth ball bearing gimbals and a large back-lit LCD with a included aluminum case and battery pack. You have versatility and power at an unprecedented value.

FrSky 2.4GHz ACCST Taranis X9D PLUS Telemetry Transmitter w/X8R Receiver & Case
Great transmitter and amazing service as always from Amain.

Has loads of features only found in high-end name brand transmitters at a fraction of the price. The build quality is decent, but obviously built to be modular and replaceable parts (screws on front face, all plastic, non molded switches and boards). Backlit display, 3pos switches, multiple var pots, telemetry, etc

This one from amain came with v2 firmware which made it easy to update to the latest (free, open-source) firmware. To do this install the opentxcompanion 2.1 (google), leave transmitter off, push and hold rudder and aileron trim towards the power switch, turn on transmitter, let go, plug into usb cable, then start open opentxcompanion. It will probably ask you to download the latest firmware and follow a few on-screen instructions.

This is essentially the best bang for the buck on the market. Programming it takes some time to wrap your head around, but when you do, you will have a 16ch controller that can fly any gun/drop ship or multi-channel monstrosity you can think of, and every other flying craft in your garage! Range of the built in tx is good. If you are looking for longer range, just drop in a new uhf tx module (sub $150), and set your model to external RF and away you go for miles.

The best part about buying this TX is that you are not locked into a "brand" (Also why I was surprised amain started stocking this!). You can drop in a module to bind to JR, Spectrum, orangerx...I think there is a FASST module too, just google it. Flexibility is more valuable than a "name".

NOT MENTIONED IN THE DESCRIPTION: Mine came with a 1gb microSD card! Stores the images, model info, and programming variables externally. Shows up as a "flash drive" for easy backup (when you do the command above)! **Add this to the includes if they all come this way!

Lua scripting! If your inclined, it allows you to program scripts (motions, special toggles, patterns, audio, switches...anything) of any of the 16 available channels. If you have done any programming in the past, you can pick up the openTx fairly easily, but Lua scripting is certainly not required to enjoy all the perks of this TX.

All in all, a great TX for its scalability, build quality, programability, features and price!

FrSky 2.4GHz ACCST Taranis X9D PLUS Telemetry Transmitter w/X8R Receiver & Case
I believe this is a great deal. I won't be using the X8R rx right away, but maybe one day I will find a use for it. Right now I am flying 250 racing quads, and this radio is perfect for that. The fact that it comes with it's own aluminum case is awesome. The case is well made, and it will protect my radio investment for many years to come. I was sold on this radio for all the options it offers at a fraction of the price. So not only did I buy an awesome transmitter, I bought it from an awesome company. They shipped it out quickly, it was delivered in perfect condition, and A Main responded to an inquiry I made in a respectable amount of time. I would say if you are looking for a radio and a place to buy it from that you can't go wrong with this product or company! Thanks AMainPerformance for making the transaction so easy!

FrSky 2.4GHz ACCST Taranis X9D PLUS Telemetry Transmitter w/X8R Receiver & Case
Just got mine. I am very impressed. For $200 I was expecting a cheaply build radio and this to be more like a toy, but that isn't the case at all. Makes me wonder if spending $800 on my JR radio was really needed. Have yet to test this fully with a racing quad, and I have read the open source software and display has a greater learning curve but I found tons of good resources on youtube.

FrSky 2.4GHz ACCST Taranis X9D PLUS Telemetry Transmitter w/X8R Receiver & Case
I LOVE my Taranis! I had to get mine elsewhere (before AMain carried them). This is the best TX I've ever used. Everything about it is the best. Open TX takes some getting used to, but the power it provides is awesome! There are many, many, more receivers, modules, sensors, and accessories for this control than AMain currently stocks. Hopefully, they will be expanding their FrSky products soon! The prices at AMain are great on these, like everything!
They have a wireless buddy box...

FrSky 2.4GHz ACCST Taranis X9D PLUS Telemetry Transmitter w/X8R Receiver & Case
Love the Taranis and AMain had a great price for the "kit" with receiver and case. The Taranis looks good, feels good, and sounds good. I really like the flexibility and power of the OpenTX firmware and the Companion software is just awesome. Thanks AMain for carrying the FrSky products.
