Now made with Maker Foam! The Flite Test Edge is based on the Zivko Edge 540 V3, which is a great aerobatic plane and also a very popular choice for pilots competing in the Red Bull Air Races. The FT Edge captures the crisp lines of the real Edge while offering a wide flight envelope capable of doing anything from smooth pattern flying to extreme aerobatic maneuvers. Appealing to both sport fliers and 3D pilots alike!

The FT Edge has a removable one-piece wing so that it can be easily transported even in smaller vehicles.  it's large hatch allows easy access to the battery and other electronics. It also has optional landing gear, wheel pants and side force generators allowing you to customize the aircraft to your own preferences.

"This plane was designed to suit my personal preferences as a pilot, so the design has been optimized for 3D aerobatics with large control surfaces enabling the plane to do anything you can throw at it. It has a good power-to-weight ratio when paired with our Power Pack C motor. This delivers enough power for unlimited vertical while keeping the aircraft light enough for low and slow aerobatics. These characteristics make this plane suitable for seasoned 3D pilots as well as those just getting into aerobatic flying. No matter where you are in your journey through the world of flight the FT Edge can serve as a platform for you to further your flying experiences." - Andres Lu

Flite Test Edge 540 "Maker Foam" Electric Airplane Kit (1016mm)
Maker Foam is worst than dollar tree foam!!
Trying to build the "Flite Test Edge 540" that I purchased. It was supplied in the new white "Maker Foam". The paper is not adhering to the foam very well. It is also not very water resistant. While carefully removing parts from laser-cut "Maker Foam" sheets, paper is coming loose from the foam. Also, the "Maker Foam" has the same ripples in the surface that the older brown foam had.
Have had to remake some parts from brown foam due to paper not staying on the "Maker Foam" parts. Dropped a few drops of water on the foam board while drinking from a water bottle. Wiped up the drops, but the paper swelled up where the water had been.
I ended up scrapping the partly built "Edge 540" and started over with all brown Adams foam parts cut from sheet.
This is not my first foam board plane. I have built 3 Bushwackers, 1 Storch, 3 Viggens, 2 Sea Ducks, 2 Simple Cubs, a scratch built foam board plane from Midwest Aerostar 40 plans.
I truly think that the "Maker Foam" was a mistake.

Flite Test Edge 540 "Maker Foam" Electric Airplane Kit (1016mm)
Excellent design. I added the 3D wing tips made from resin, but set so it just created a shell. The foam board is a bit of a pain as the paper likes to separate, but I just glue it down and go on. The finished model is very good looking, the designer was very innovative in creating the shape. As this was only my third foam board model, I hadn't taken to heart some of the building techniques that make it look even better, like using the bench when folding the "A" and "B" curves. I will probably get another one when this one finally meets its demise.
