The Flite Test Bloody Baron is a four channel combat / sport plane. Coupled with our Power Pack B, the Bloody Baron can be flown as a 4 channel trainer. Use the Power Pack C and the Bloody Baron will climb vertically with ease and is capable of most basic aerobatics.

The Bloody Baron is our first community release! That means a Flite Test community member was inspired by experiencing flight enough to design their very own airplane.

Flite Test Bloody Baron Speed Build Electric Airplane Kit (737mm)
I purchased the Bloody Wonder and Bloody Baron in a two pack. Both are easy to build and a ton of fun. I dialed down the rates and limited throttle on the Bloody Wonder for my 9yo son to practice on when he was ready to move up from a trainer. Repairs are quick & easy with packing tape & hot glue. Highly recommend this for someone who is ready to move up from a trainer. Foamboard planes are great to learn on. You WILL crash. Fixing these and getting them back in the air is quick & easy, with out any of the heartbreak of loosing/damaging a balsa model you took weeks to finish. I am so grateful for Josh and the rest of Flite test team for making it so easy to get in to this hobby. They do an incredible job of teaching and sharing with others to help spread our wonderful hobby.

Flite Test Bloody Baron Speed Build Electric Airplane Kit (737mm)
This is great build. Incredibly stable, especially at lower speeds. Fun evolution of the Bloody Wonder ( which if you're into combat, this plane is a must). Fast build with a great wing design. Build this to start, and then modify from there. This plane is a great base to play with.

Flite Test Bloody Baron Speed Build Electric Airplane Kit (737mm)
Flite Test has really helped me out. Thanks so much.

They've taught me crashing is not to be feared. And perhaps the crash and recovery are bigger parts of the game vs just flying. This was my 1st flitetest kit build. (June 2020) Great plane, easy build, fun flight, good price.

5 Stars.

FT has put a lot of effort to make good kits, and have supporting electronics and videos.
Hats off to them for the complete package. Oh, and this plane is a lot of fun.

The Flite Test build videos are excellent. Very thorough and helpful. Best I've seen.
Build went together better than expected. Not perfect, but not bad, especially for my 1st build.
The kit was well put together and everything fit very well.
I used the C kit and all the electronics fit and worked well.
Survived the 1st flight on a 2200mA3S.
Hand launch was easy, I had low rates and it is quite responsive, rolls were crisp, and very fast on high rates, inverted was calm, vertical was not unlimited on the 9" prop and 3S.
I got about 6minutes on the 1st flight. Glide in was un-eventful.
I'm prone to snapping props on gear-less planes on landing but I didn't snap the 9" prop on two landings. So far so good.

The performance meets or exceeds many of the ARFs I've had. And the price for the air-frame can't be beat. Smash it up and you can get back in the air for $<30 (swapping the electronics).

Highly recommended.

Flite Test Bloody Baron Speed Build Electric Airplane Kit (737mm)
The FT kits are great...I built a Versa Wing from a kit and it was a lot more durable than $Tree foam. I built the Bloody Baron from scratch and just flew it again the other day after not flying it for a while. This is a great plane for someone looking to step up from an entry level plane. Easy to build too. I hand launched it about 1/2 throttle and it just flew right out of my hand...no trim. It also flys very manageably at low speeds but gets moving when you lay on the throttle. Rolls just by thinking about it. Even if you don't fly with expo you'll probably want to start with about 30%.

Flite Test Bloody Baron Speed Build Electric Airplane Kit (737mm)
Great airplane, very simple to build. Unfortunately there is no protection of the battery, so we had to add something on the bottom of the airplane to protect the battery.

Flite Test Bloody Baron Speed Build Electric Airplane Kit (737mm)
Dan Sponholz created a winner right here! I maidened it at Flite Fest 2019 and have enjoyed two solid months of stable flying, snappy rolling, near vertical climbing and easy landing. The Simple Scout is a bit more stable overall, but this plane can chase the biggest Franken Builds at FliteFest and emerge unscathed. With elements of the “eindecker,” DR-1 and Bloody Wonder, it has a throwback look with a simple, elegant build. Only issue is mounting the battery: it would hang below the fuselage and take damage on landing so I mounted it inside the power pod. That makes changing the battery a chore, but keeps everything safe. If the fuselage were a bit taller, the battery would ride safely beneath the power pod.
