    1. Duster has potential but I'm disappointed!

Flitetest: I realize I only invested $40, including S&H in the FT Duster. Perhaps it is a case of : You get what you paid for. The foam material leaves a lot of room for error despite the excellent cut marks. It doesn't always line up as it should. That's a problem and annoying. I admit I made some errors of my own. Some errors were a result of not hearing important instruction details. I'll accept that responsibility. I would add that the video, while 90 percent well done, some details where missing. For example, the instruction on the power pod build is lacking. I'm having difficulty getting my power pod to insert into the fuse properly--ugh. I'll try sanding and other possible solutions. I like the Duster and I think it will eventually fly fine, but I'm not certain I would recommend it to a fellow pilot/builder. on 1st Feb 2017

    2. Wings!

This was a great plane and a really fun build overall. Believe me when I say this, the Duster goes like blazes!! The only problems I had were:
      A. The canopy didn't fit right despite following the video to the "T"
      B. The wings didn't fit right and I ended up ripping the bottom part of the plane and having to glue like EVERYTHING.

      Everything else was awesome!

    3. Duster speed build

      Fun build, great flyer!!!!
      Purchased with flight pack C.
No trim required on maiden. Plenty of power with specked motor/battery combo. Hope to tow glider soon. Very pleased with Dusty

    4. Great looking and flying airplane

It has certainly been a great experience for me as a first time plane builder and first time FT flyer. The plane flies really well and I can't wait to get it back in the air. The 'C' power pack gives it a lot of authority in the air while the air frame cooperates very nice at slow speeds. If anyone has trouble getting it to fly well, even after balancing and trimming, try removing the canopy. My plane was very over responsive but once the canopy was removed it flies smooth as glass. on 8th Aug 2016

    5. Fantastic

This was my first speed build kit and I absolutely loved it. The build video was extremely helpful. Maiden flight was a tiny bit rough as the tail-wheel I put on was getting caught in a bit of grass but once I removed it, it flew very well. Would agree with some others that it is not a good first plane (would say somewhere between beginner and intermediate) but I absolutely enjoy the flight characteristics and find it very relaxing to fly but can also punch through quite nicely. Plus my five-year-old son loves having a "real" Dusty. on 22nd Dec 2015

    6. Awesome Kit!

I purchased it because of my grandkids. They just loved the movie Planes, and they just love to see Dusty in action. I've been flying RC models for many years now, and I might add that it will take an intermediate flyer to handle it. I suggest that everyone remembers to balance the plane before its first flight. Hope everyone enjoys it as much as my grandkids and I are enjoying it. on 23rd Oct 2015

    7. Love it!

My Duster flies like it's on rails. Hand launches are a piece of cake. Talked my 81 year old Father through a flight! I did land it! The Duster makes an excellent 2nd aircraft for the intermediate pilot. As we say in the South...it's a good 'un! on 23rd Oct 2015

    8. For Advanced Pilots

This is a plane that really appeals to the kids, unfortunately the short wingspan and low wing configuration puts it in the "advanced" category.
My suggestion is to scale it up to about 45 inch wingspan so it will at least be in the "intermediate" category.
I will be the first in line to buy the larger version! It is so cute and appealing. But also a pair of eyes included in the kit will make it a lot more appealing.

    9. Love My Duster!

This is my first FT build. I chose the Duster because my kids love the movie Planes... The kit arrived quickly and was beautifully put togeter. All parts were well organized and the foam was laser cut very cleanly. The build was super easy (thanks to the build video). I will maiden this week to make sure it flies well. Overall, I love the kit and the plane and it if definitely at the same quality as you would expect from FliteTest. on 21st Sep 2015

    10. Great build, not so great flier

I love Flite Test kits. I've purchased and built a bunch of speed build kits. FT Cruiser, Baby Blender, Storch, Old Fogey, Tiny Trainer and the FT Duster. I didn't care for this plane at all. Every flight ended in a crash. Tonight I tore all the electronics out of it to put into another plane. I'm sure I'll buy another speed build kit because these guys do a great job. Just not a Duster. on 8th Jul 2015
