This design is inspired by Josh’s FT Explorer, as it follows the idea of a radically awesome, easy to build, fly, and modify design! The Bronco even uses the same core section from the FT Explorer, making it modular for all of your crazy aviation experiments.
Originally the design was a simple twin boom plane that had one fixed motor on the back to create a simple FPV ship that was durable and had lots of protection for the motor while keeping the FPV camera completely unobstructed. After the FT Explorer was released, Josh had the brilliant idea of integrating the simplistic concept of my design into a fully-fledged design capable of many configurations!
You will find that the design is easy to replicate if you’re working from plans or a copy of the kit. If you’re building the speed build kit, the process is very quick! The kit comes with three tail styles: an “A” tail for pitch and yaw control with just two servos, a lower “H” style tail that’s akin to a P-38/C-119, and a OV-10 style bronco tail that looks like an “H” with the top cut off.
So go ahead and get started with the build! By the time you start piecing together the plane, there will be tons of additional mods available on our forums. Customize your build or simply go out and try your hand at creating your own unique flyer!

Please watch recent build videos before removing any paper from the foam! Some videos may use white foam board, which is no longer available and has now been replaced with water-resistant foam board.
after building speedbuildkits of a simple storch, bushwacker and baby blender, i really wanted to build a twin-engine flitetest-plane. the bronco is very nice to build, everything worked perfectly and it looks gorgeous.
the only problem i ran into was the missing power Y-cable. maybe i didnt see it, but it would be great to remind buyers of a twin-engine plane to order one of these. i built one myself, no worries, but i didnt realize it wasnt included in the power pack B twin.
keep up the great work, flitetest - really nice planes to build and fly! Luegg on 23rd Aug 2016
My first twin, and it was an excellent building experience! A relatively easy build if you've done a couple FT designs, and everything you need comes in the kit, except the power pack, of course. I built the high tail version, and maiden was uneventful, even for a beginner pilot like me. Looks awesome in the air, flies as gently or as severe as your input on the tx. I was concerned about the prop direction, too. But mine both spin ccw and it flies just great. It was a joy to fly, and if you avoid landing upside down like I did yesterday, it will be an excellent addition to your hangar. Gotta go fix mine up and get it back in the sky. Great plane, well thought out design, excellent overall experience. John on 8th Jul 2016
Very easy to build and set up with different tail options. I built the inverted V tail and it handles great and looks cool. Overall very pleased with this design, fun to fly. John Bergsmith on 21st Jun 2016
great kit, relatively easy to build and finally went out to fly it after i was trying to resolve a motor issue, and gave it the old lets see if it flies test and it flies really well for not being an expert plane builder/crafter, i need to dial in the v tail with elevator, as it has so much power it hovers like a helicopter, but overall a great flying plane for one of my first planes i have built and flown. OK fellows please no laughing.....Been flying for many years but the Bronco is my first twin. My question is "standing behind the model witch engine needs to spin clockwise and witch needs to spin counter clockwise.." I know this is a pretty stupid question, but again this is my first twin. As far as the kit it is awesome, nice looking and I hope it flies as well as it looks. I would love to see Peter modify it a little so that I could have my favorite aircraft of all time, a Cessna Skymaster. Thanks Flite-test for rethinking all we thought we knew about model aircraft.....Travis Travis Scott on 8th Feb 2016
Everything you need (except the electronics and adhesive) is in this kit. I mean, everything! Laser cut ply control horns/firewalls, pre-bent push rods, bbq skewers, rubber bands are neatly arranged in a sealed plastic bag. The laser cut foam board parts include all of the pieces needed to build all three tail configurations and twin/single motor powerplant options. The only thing not included in the Power Pack is an XT60 power y-harness. NOTE: I had a minor issue regarding the Power Pack B twin inventory, but Flite Test promptly took care of the problem. Simply put - First rate customer service from a first rate R/C company! I am definitely going to buy another kit...just gotta decide which one. Hmmmm...Bushwhacker or Mini Sportster??? I received this kit on a weekday. I began working on it after work around 5 and had it assembled before dinner. all the parts fit perfect and the foam is great quality. I did my maiden the following Saturday on a fairly windy day and it performed great. As with all things Flite Test, A+ ! Sean on 9th Nov 2015
