The Flite Test 3-Pack Speed Build Kit is a great primer for those interested in scratch building!
This package includes all the parts needed to build 3 complete swappable airframes. This kit includes parts for the FT Flyer, FT Nutball and FT Delta... all laser-cut from 5mm paper reinforced depron foam.
Usually ships in 3 business days.
These are airframes only.
Each of these airframes are compatible with the swappable series developed by Josh Bixler. Learn more about this kit and the swappable series by watching this video (in the videos tab)
We love this kit. Honestly we bought a kit that was too advanced to start. So then to get my son and I some experience we bought this one. We started with the FT Flyer, and the FT Nutball. The best part of the whole experience is we spend more time flying than crying over crashes. We have crashed often. And Hard! But I literally have gone out and got 5 or 6 flights each time we go out. I simply readjust the rubber band or return things to their proper place and throw it and fly again. It is the first time we actually spend more time flying than it takes to drive to the school where we fly. And I have totally abused these planes. I honestly didn't believe it at first...but you literally just need some tape or hot glue to patch em up...and next day (or 5 minutes later) you are ready to go again. We have not even got to the third plane yet. I don't know about you...maybe you are already having successful flights. But if not, this is a great kit to get started right away so you can have tears of joy rather than just tears. My son and I are loving it. Well done FT. Thanks for making this hobby accessible and fun "for the rest of us"! Tim on 4th Nov 2016
Amazing people, awesome videos that explain everything you need to know. Will be ordering from flitetest for a long time to come. Unknown on 22nd Oct 2016
Everything was great with the kits. Went together fine. Ran into 2 issues holes on the firewall did not line up corectly and the batter that was recommended had a xt30 plug while the ESC had a xt60 plug on it.
I recommend if you are recommending the battery for this kit include the adaptor or recommend the battery with the right conection.
Thank you. Unknown on 21st Sep 2016
I decided to get back into rc planes after a disappointing try at it a long long (long:)) time ago. Back in the day I tried building a covered balsa plane. It took me the better part of a month to build and I wrecked it on the first flight. I was out several hundred dollars for the radio, batteries, charger and plane and found myself starting over after a two minute flight - so much for this hobby.
These planes and the new batteries and motors make it way less expensive and way easier to get back into the hobby. I am pretty excited.
I ordered the three planes, the powerpack kit, and the battery. I really want to give this five stars, but cannot for three reasons
1 - The motor mount did not line up with the holes in the wooden firewall. Did not realize this until after the power pod was assembled, so it was a bit awkward to drill the new holes and screw on the mount. Minor issue. Maybe mention to check it in the video. If I had suspected this, I could easily have drilled new holes in the firewall before assembly - which I did for the other two.
2 - The servo horn hole was too small for the rod pivot and I needed to drill out another two holes to make those fit. Also a minor issue for me, but it might confuse younger newcomer to the hobby. Maybe mention it in the video.
3 - The supplied battery's connector is an X30 and the supplied speed controller has an X60 connector. I got it all built only to have to go on-line and order an adapter. Now I have to wait a few more days for my first flight. If items are sold together - they should fit together. This is a beginner set so it may not be feasible that the buyer has an adapter.
Do not get me wrong - these planes rock and I cannot wait to start flying - very minor issues that are easily corrected and you have a perfect product. I fully plan to make my way through a lot of the designs and I love the idea of cheap, fast build planes!

I have ordered the kit for me and my sons. We are going to start our new RC adventure. And the swappable kit is a great starting ponit. Good quality, well packed, fast shipping. I would highly recommend. Mirek on 3rd Sep 2016
This is probably one of the best beginniners kits you can buy for the simple fact that it's easy to fix. A little hot glue and maybe some packing tape and your back in the air flying, or crashing in some cases. Ryan on 28th Jul 2016
So far all I can review is the quality of the kits I received. They were well packed and delivered in less than one week. While waiting I downloaded the plans for the Nut Ball and built one and it flys great!! If the three models in the kit fly as good then I would have to give 15 stars ( 5 each). I did not know that i could purchase your products from Great Hobbies here in Canada, and will probably purchase there in the future just because they are only 2 hours away from me. If they cannot supply then you will get my order.
Thanks for a fun and inexpensive way to fly in my backyard rather than going to the flying field. Terry P on 23rd Jul 2016
Great kit. Well packed. Fast shipping. I will order from Flitetest again. Unknown on 17th Jul 2016
My 8 year old daughter has been wanting to fly with me. These kits are fantastic! Not only did we get to build the plane, but then I have no stress about her flying them. I love flight test and their kits. Dusti Fishburn on 29th May 2016
I am teaching my two youngest sons (4 and 5 years) to fly, while doing research on the internet I found the Flight Test youtube channel. I must admit that being a RC pilot since the 80's I did not like foam board airplanes, I was a hard core balsa and mono builder. Flight Test, you guys have completely changed my mind! After building the FT Sparrow and the FT Versa wing from the free plans I decided to try Josh's three pack for my kids. I am very impressed with the quality and ease of construction. The little product card included in the plane package is priceless, you would think that you had sent them a personal letter. My kids made me read it over and over. I would strongly encourage people to build one or two of the free designs, just for the experience. However, once you are hooked the speed build kits are the way to go. The time savings is reason enough, however the precision and undercutting done by the laser makes the assembly of the speed build kits very clean. If I had one suggestion to make the product better it would be to have some printed instructions to supplement the video. I live in a rural area and my internet is not very fast, so buffering video is a problem. Although the experience of walking through the video with the kids, going step by step... seeing, doing, seeing , doing, that was very cool. We have not flown the planes yet, saving that for the weekend. I will post anything further in the forums.
Feel blessed brothers, your everyday hero's to a bunch of kids. Mine would rather watch your youtube channel than cartoons. Joe Jazdzewski - Jazz on the FT forum on 29th Apr 2016
